This may sound crazy, but my husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here. I just didn't feel like doing some fancy, uptight dinner, and so I suggested we try someplace different and near one of our favorite grocery stores (Bismillah). I found this on Yelp. Man, were we glad! We couldn't have imagined a more perfect experience. First of all, as soon as we were recognized as non-Spanish speaking, we were quickly and graciously assisted in English. We wish we spoke Spanish, but we really don't, so we were grateful that wasn't made an issue. Even though the place is not big, it has a very airy feel, which was greatly aided by the many large windows. The woman who took our order was super warm and friendly, and patiently helped us navigate the unfamiliar menu. I really wanted to try what was considered a favorite dish, so I got the Birria tacos with the broth, and my husband got a steak plate, as well as a batch of Caldo de Res (a meaty vegetable soup) to take home. The only disappointment was due to a logistic. The steak was generous and perfectly prepared, but they only had plastic flatware, so it was a little less satisfying than it might've been. Still, we shared it and enjoyed every bite, plus a good laugh, as we worked away at cutting it up. It was really very good. The frijoles served with it were so good, we had to order an extra side of them. The Birria tacos were the real star of the show, though. Never have we had meat so succulent. The tacos were constructed with a perfect balance of ingredients--just enough cheese to hold it together while letting the meat shine--and the tortillas were so tasty and perfectly crisped. The broth was delicious as were the red and green sauce that also came with. The service was excellent, and we felt comfortable to take our time with this excellent meal. Back at home, my husband found the soup to be beyond his wildest dreams. We also brought home a piece of Tres Leches cake that the server gave us as a "welcome" treat. I don't eat sweets, but my husband described it as, "melt in your mouth good, subtle flavor, rich, yet amazingly light" and said that it's perfect for anyone who wants to gain a ton of weight. Lol!! We will definitely be back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Saw this place on TIK TOK and wanted to try their Birria Pizza. This company has several locations make sure to head to the Hyattsville location if you want to try the Birria pizza. They are located on the 2nd floor of a shopping plaza. I would consider this location like a whole in a wall tucked away in a a corner, small you can order to go or sit down to eat. Once we walked in we were greeted and handed a menu so we can order. The food is made to order, placed our order and waited for 10mins. Our food came out, everything looked good and tastes ok. I enjoyed my dinner. For the pizza was just too much meat and cheese but still good. We ordered a lot because we wanted to try it out so we ended up packing the rest to go.

This place is great, it has many options and the food is very delicious. I tried the quesabirra this time and I think I prefer they regular tacos instead. Specially their Al pastor and carnita tacos which are very flavorful! But overall their quesabirra was still delicious. The staff is friendly and the environment is very welcoming. I recommend trying this place out and coming back to try multiple things on their menu, because they have a lot of delicious options. Overall I highly recommend.

Saw they had the Birria pizza and had been dying to try it! My brother in law went to go pick it up and said it was packed so that was a good sign. He was in and out within an efficient time. The actual birria pizza was FIRE!! Everything I imagined and then some. The consume added a nice extra burst of flavor. I will most definitely be back!

Who knew there was a second location here? The original in Laurel, and definitely a little more obvious... but I'd say this is like a hidden gem. It's inside La Union Mall, a mall full of Spanish vendors and patrons. There is no sign outside that indicates it's in the mall, but if you go up those initial steps, and then go up the flight of stairs inside the mall, look around... it's in the corner next to the church! It's no way as big as its Laurel counterpart... there are 2 tables outside the restaurant, and just a handful inside. They have menus they can hand you to read outside of the restaurant where there's more space, or you can just read the big menu inside. Since my friend and I were waiting on one other, we grabbed menus and sat at a table in the mall itself. The staff happily checked on us occasionally as we waited for my other friend... and when he came we ordered. Between the three of us, there were plenty of tacos, a quesabirria, and two servings of guacamole and chips. The only thing I had up until this point was the birria tacos from the other location, which were incredible. The al pastor tacos and shrimp taco I got were LOADED... not only did each one have a lot of meat, but this was a hefty amount of chopped lettuce as well. On the side there were a few extra veggies to include if we desired, and some sauces. Their tacos are great. I think the birria is still their #1, but their tacos themselves are really good. The guac was good too! It was very easy to tell the guac was fresh and the chips were homemade. I appreciated them not having salt so we could add however much we wanted ourselves. They were delicious! So if you're in the Chillum / Hyattsville / Silver Spring / Takoma Park area, it turns out you may be rather close to one of the best taco spots in PG County. Definitely give it a try! And there's a big bar right next door...

This may be the best Birria in Maryland (I've tried several others in the area). Theirs is the meatiest, crispiest, and cheesiest of the bunch! I honestly could share with my girlfriend and I'd be satisfied. Their consommé broth could be thicker with flavor so hopefully they take it into consideration. I'd give a 5 star, but I also tried their regular street tacos. Good amount of meat, but very dry. I've had more moist tacos in my life time. Hoping it was an off day and they're actually on point the next time I try. Definitely come here for the Birria!!
